To apply for a new National ID card, renew an existing one, or request a replacement, please use the Department of National Registration (DNR)'s online portal. Below are the steps to guide you through the process:

1. Create an Account:
- If you do not already have an account, register on the portal.
- Note: Registration verification requires a Maldivian mobile number to receive the OTP (One-Time Password). Alternatively, a family member can add you to their account as a dependent and complete the application process on your behalf.
2. Submit Your Application:
Follow the portal's instructions to apply for a new ID card, renew an existing one, or request a replacement.
3. Delivery Option via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
- If you wish to have your ID card sent via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, email card

The ID card can then be dispatched directly to you through the Embassy nearest to your location.
