Overseas Marriage Registration with the Family Court of the Maldives
- One of the documents required by the Family Court to register marriages conducted overseas is a letter from the Embassy/diplomatic mission.

The Embassy requests Maldivian citizens to provide the following documents to issue the required letter:

Notarized Islamic marriage certificate issued in the country where the marriage took place (in this case, the U.S.).

Official civil marriage certificate from the state where the marriage was registered.

Copies of the ID card and passport of both spouses.
